Welcome to YKI Swedish Coach ("Service", "we", "us", or "our"). YKI Swedish Coach is an AI-powered Swedish language practice platform designed to help Finnish learners prepare for the YKI exam (Yleinen kielitutkinto).

By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must meet the following requirements to use our Service:

• Be at least 16 years of age. If you are under 16 and reside in the European Union, you must have parental or guardian consent to use the Service.
• Provide accurate and complete registration information.
• Maintain one account per person (no sharing or multiple accounts).

3. Account Terms

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities that occur under your account.

• Registration is currently available via Google OAuth only.
• Email verification is required to access the Service.
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
• We reserve the right to refuse service or terminate accounts at our sole discretion.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You agree NOT to:

• Use the Service to violate any applicable laws or regulations.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other user accounts, or computer systems.
• Engage in any activity that interferes with or disrupts the Service.
• Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or any malicious code.
• Scrape, spider, or harvest data from the Service.
• Resell, redistribute, or commercialize the Service without written permission.
• Share your account credentials with others.
• Use the Service to spam, harass, or abuse other users or our systems.

5. Service Availability

YKI Swedish Coach is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. As an MVP (Minimum Viable Product), the Service is under active development and may experience:

• Downtime, interruptions, or errors.
• Changes to features, functionality, or pricing.
• Scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.

We do not guarantee continuous, uninterrupted, or error-free operation of the Service. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice.

6. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Our Service uses artificial intelligence (AI) models from OpenAI (GPT-4o, Whisper, TTS) and Google (Gemini) to provide automated grading and feedback on your Swedish language exercises.

Important disclaimers:

• AI-generated feedback is provided for educational purposes only and should not be considered professional language instruction.
• AI models may occasionally produce inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading feedback.
• We do not guarantee that using our Service will result in passing the YKI exam or achieving any specific language proficiency level.
• You should use the Service as a supplementary practice tool, not as a replacement for formal language education.

7. Intellectual Property

Your Content: You retain all ownership rights to the content you create on the Service, including voice recordings and written text. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process your content for the sole purpose of providing the Service (e.g., AI grading, progress tracking).

Our Content: The Service, including its software, design, algorithms, grading models, and all related intellectual property, is owned by YKI Swedish Coach and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

Third-Party Trademarks:"YKI" and "Yleinen kielitutkinto" are registered trademarks of Opetushallitus (Finnish National Agency for Education). YKI Swedish Coach is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Opetushallitus.

8. Payment Terms

YKI Swedish Coach offers both free and paid subscription plans. All payments are processed securely through Stripe.

• Billing: Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on your plan).
• Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account dashboard. Upon cancellation, you will retain access until the end of your current billing period. No future charges will occur.
• Refunds: We do not offer refunds for subscription fees. You may cancel at any time to stop future billing.
• Price Changes: We reserve the right to change our pricing at any time. Price changes will be communicated at least 30 days in advance and will apply to your next billing cycle.
• Payment Information: All payment details (e.g., credit card numbers) are securely stored and processed by Stripe. We do not have access to your full payment information.

9. Data & Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. We process your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable data protection laws.

10. Limitation of Liability

• Failure to pass the YKI exam or achieve language proficiency goals.
• Errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in AI-generated feedback.
• Unauthorized access to your account or data.
• Service interruptions, downtime, or data loss.

In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

The Service is provided "as-is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice, including but not limited to:

• Violation of these Terms of Service.
• Fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity.
• Non-payment of subscription fees.

You may delete your account at any time by contacting our support team. Upon account deletion, your data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12. Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the European Union and applicable member state laws.

Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved in accordance with EU regulations. If you are a consumer in the EU, you have the right to file a complaint with your local consumer protection authority.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the Service.
